About Me
Born the year Queen Elizabeth became queen and Chaplin returned to England, Jane the Poet has led a joyous life as a photographer (briefly) community artist, performer, lecturer and writer. She married the artist Rowan Vuglar in 1992 (Rowan’s art can be viewed at www.rowanvuglar.art) and has one son, of whom she is inordinately proud.
Famous in the family as the first ever fire-eater, (one way of economising on food bills) one of her first performances was alongside the Rolling Stones and she has kept rolling ever since, no stone unturned, no matter how muddy. Ever since her doomed university career (my apologies to Sheffield University) she has occupied herself with jotting down poems and snatches of prose, encouraged for a number of years by Foxhill Poets, a local writers’ group, which housed the wonderful Daphne Rock, Rosemary Norman and Jennifer Vuglar.
After years of sporadic writing, Jane the Poet has resumed writing and editing her work, after various family (thank you, Renee Cassin and cousin Sharon) requests (commissions?) brought her back to her main love (apart from family, that is)
Joyously yours
Jane the Poet
