About Jane the Poet

I founded Jane the Poet to share my writing more widely and at some point, to embark on a memoir of my unusual and ridiculously colourful life.

Memoir sneak preview.

Born the year Elizabeth became queen regnant, Jane the Poet has lived life to the full. From the first (yes, the site was deluged) Glastonbury Festival to her utterly forgettable  performing artist debut alongside The Rolling Stones, taking in Mime studies in Paris (Mon Dieu, c'est quoi ca?) and a successful squatting career -how else to house a giant props tea cup and saucer in uv

satin and still have room to practise handsprings- Jane the Poet has been many things to many people, some of them quite printable. Such as a poet-with thanks to the Foxhall

Poets, Jenny Vuglar, Rosemary Norman and the late Daphne Rock, all fine and well published poets-check them out!

The Tranquil Places

There are places that we may recognise, the classic sights and the lesser known, such as The Colosseum in Rome or a huge flowering fuschia opposite our home.

These are a source of wonder, of comfort and of a happiness that lingers long after the flowers have given way to winter and  Rome seems as distant as the Sydney Opera House.

Writing is a way of gathering up stray memories, reremembering what matters and what did matter in times past; what matters now and tomorrow.
